Taken by Myself October 1989

AA transport Depot Canren Sheffield this was the collection of my Iveco.
My de-commissioned 190 B287 YUL is out of shot, but it is interesting to
note that these 190s which are off to head office at Basingstoke for
disposal still have the beacons and signs fitted which was not the norm.
During this period all AA vans went back to head office for disposal
whether driven or transported.

My wonderful 190 Transit

Throughout the 1980s 190 Ford Transits were used all
over the country, They were basically 190s with up and over back doors,
side loader for passenger seats. they were either classified as Romeo or
Bravo. Romeo Transits were Fitted with a Truck A-way Recovery crane in
the rear floor. Bravo Transits were basic vans but were modified with
24volt charging systems for BRS membership use. B287 YUL was a standard
190 with 12 volt system and it was known as bravo 7. The history of this
vehicle is it was issued new to the Hull area in 1984 as B36 it was
deemed surplus to requirements in hull in late 1988 and was transferred
to Newcastle-on-tyne early 1989 and was redesigned Newcastle Bravo7 I
drove this (Loved it) until late 1989 when it was retired from service.
I received issue of my first Iveco 48-10 the power lift was the demise
in the serves of the 190 Transit.
