The story in Posters
Posters are among the hardest items to find for any collection of car memorabilia.
They are only displayed for a few months in the show rooms then gone for ever. Unlike broachers they are not free to take. They never come up for sale like books or models and nine times out of ten they are ripped or damaged when being put up or taken down from the wall they are displayed on. What better way to follow the history than in 4 foot posters, they are very hard to take pictures of and even harder to put on display I hope you enjoy my display.
July 10th 1965 and the first ever poster.
September 1965 Parts were soon to follow.
In October 1965 the showrooms display was comprised of a number of boxes that had posters on them outlining the attributes of the new Ford Transit
Europe 1966 they had there own set of posters, these are from France.
Walker bodies Watford also needed posters to display what the could do with the transit.
1968 very colourful example and a change in the way the van was advertised.
1969 and the Super van name appears for the first time
October 1969 the van is four years old.

The idea for this one came from the Small faces pop group van that was covered in writing while being parked outside Steve Marriott house
not sure of the date.
1975 and a great poster showing all the transit working on the roads of England.

As you can see transit posters change with the times the same as the van and as they changed they set the bar for other van producers, Ford have always set the pace at far as adverts for the Transit are concerned and I am sure this page will be added to every year as the story continues.
