Quiz Night November 2006 Hard Rock London

This Event was in MoJo Magazine in February 2006 issue

Way back in 1965 the Ford Transit Van was born and within months it was driving around with pop groups in the back. Not just any pop groups but Big bands like the Small faces, The Artwoods, Jerry and the pacemakers, Joe loss, Cream, and the list goes on and on the music industry is aware of the importance of the Ford Transit and the part it has played over the years in helping bands turn up with there equipment on time and safe. I am sure and Ford are also aware due to the number of bands that are always talking about there trips in the trusty Transit vans when they first start out gigging and the story is the same today the Ford Transit is still the van to have if you are an up and coming band looking for a way to get from GIG to GIG with your stuff.

In 2006 Ford sponsored the Mojo awards and Quiz night as a way of thanking the pop industry for supporting the Transit van over the years and making the Van the roadies favourite for over 42 years.

Mojo awards 2006

Gilmour takes lifetime achievement

06 June 06 - The Mojo awards took place last night (6 June) with a host of stars turning out for the ceremony which was held in East London's Shoreditch Town Hall.

Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour was among the throng and took home the Lifetime Achievement award for his commitment to the music industry and success with the band, which he said should have been by his side:

"It's quite an unusual and strange and lonely pleasure to pick up something like this but I'll accept graciously."

The Pretenders Chrissie Hynde was also honoured at the ceremony, she was handed the Mojo Songwriting award by Mick Jones from The Clash.

"It's not a sport you know, I feel a bit sheepish to think I won out from Kate Bush, it's ridiculous.  Someone had to get it though you know the truth is I don't like awards, I'm squirming, thank god Mick's here!"

Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie was over the moon after his old band The Jesus And Mary Chain got names Mojo Mavericks:

"My favourite memory is I never had a passport 'cos I'd never been out of Glasgow. They asked me to join and be the drummer, so I had to go and get one to go on tour in Germany in 1984. I met Douglas and he said we're all gonna get leather trousers and jackets and we're gonna come back rock n' roll stars and it happened."
