Face lift time
In 1978 The all new Ford Transit van became a whole new van overnight. The engine, body and interior were all updated and ready for the new decade and took the Transit van into a new dimension. The van did for the public what the MK1 did 14 years earlier; it shocked them into buying this updated vehicle and sales for Ford to a new high and in fact took off so fast that Ford could not keep up with the orders with sales of 100,000 in the first year.
The new Ford Transit van for the 1980's was up and running and added momentum to the legend.
